Open Formulary

  • EmpiRx Health offers one of the only OPEN formularies on the market – meaning more coverage and less disruption for members.

Clear, Easy Contracting

  • EmpiRx Health’s contracts are 17 pages long vs. the PBM’s industry standard of 90+ pages. In short, we keep matters clear, transparent, and straightforward, which benefits all stakeholders.

Our Breakthrough New Clinically™ Platform

  • The first clinically-driven pharmacy care platform that puts our clients and their members first by enabling effective pharmacist/physician collaboration and driving PBM transparency, pricing clarity, product innovation, and flexibility.
In Case You Missed It:

EmpiRx Health is excited to share our new corporate brand video. Featuring commentaries from our CEO, Danny Sanchez, along with our EVP and Chief Pharmacy Officer, Polina Kogan, the video highlights the serious challenges faced today by plan sponsors and their members in managing the rising costs of prescription drugs. Equally important, the video discusses how the legacy PBM industry has failed to adequately address these growing problems.

The video describes EmpiRx Health’s unique, clinically-driven approach to pharmacy care that addresses the drug cost problem “at the pen,” when the physician writes the prescription. It also highlights how our new Clinically™ technology platform is helping to keep patients healthy while substantially lowering prescription drug costs.

Featured Client Case Studies

The Partner: The UFCW National Health and Welfare Fund represents workers from across grocery, retail, and healthcare industries, among others. These workers were on the frontlines during COVID-19, and their contributions continue to have an outsized impact on the economy.

The Challenge: How could we deliver a support solution so dedicated, compassionate, and capable that these workers felt fully taken care of as they continued to work through unprecedented, challenging circumstances?

The Solution: We partnered with Fund leadership to create a high-touch care model for members with complex healthcare needs. A dedicated Member Care Advocate (MCA) is now embedded within the Fund’s benefits team, providing members with the greatest care needs the expertise of a certified clinician who serves as a clinical and benefits concierge on their behalf.

UFCW Health and Welfare Fund Outcomes:

  • 1,200 + direct member engagements to date
  • $2 million+ clinical savings to the Fund

“EmpiRx Health’s high-touch care model is the right approach to member access and cost-containment. They have raised the bar on what our Fund expects from all our healthcare service providers.”
— Glenn Di Biasi, Fund Administrator, UFCW National Health and Welfare Fund

“The PMPM Trend is Now Your Friend”
September 26, 2024 – 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST

The traditional method of evaluating PBMs is outdated and flawed. Using the same old spreadsheet to assess the performance and costs of all PBMs is fundamentally a false choice. Different PBMs use different business and operating models, which have profound effects on the PMPM (per-member/per-month) cost trends experienced by plan sponsors.

For example, if a PBM emphasizes volume-driven rebates or has a brand-over-generic strategy, they should be measured in a very different way than a PBM partner that employs a clinically-driven, value-based pharmacy care model.

Real-world experience has shown that plan sponsors can achieve substantially better PMPM cost trends when their PBM uses a clinically-driven pharmacy care model that puts the pharmacist at the center of the service model. A clinically-driven PBM approach also improves member health outcomes and quality of life.
